Select the tab for the type of search. Each tab has everything you need to do to perform that type of search.

(Results of more than 500 will not return images.)

This search will show only accessions that have material that may be requested, including those not seasonally available.
You may list accessions with separators (commas or semicolons, as shown below) or by entering them on separate lines, such as
PI 651794
PI 651649
PI 651650

Results from 2 years of testing showed that the actual number of cuts was four in 2001 and three in 2002. Cuttings in 2001 started in the second part of April and continue until the end of July. In 2002, cuttings started in early May and countinue till the second part of July. Had consistent high forage yield in the tests conducted at Tallassee and Fairhope, AL. Biomass yield was higher than or equal to Cherokee in each one of the cuts on both years. On average, it had a total forage dry matter production 12 to 26% higher than Cherokee. The high forage yield can be seen throughout the season. Forage yield the first cut was 45 - 52% of the total yield. Subsequent cuts amounted to 48 to 55% of the total yield. Plants are erect with pubescent stems that flower in the seeding year. Tends to flower earlier than Cherokee. Flowering can be equal to or up to 6 d earlier than Cherokee depending on the year and location. Has less number of plants that have no-mark leaflets than Cherokee. Flower color is mostly light pink 5RP 8/4, followed by medium pink 5RP 7/6, and a few dark pink 5RP 6/8 (Munsell Color, 1977).1811582PI 657696

253PI 651018'KENWAY'Trifolium pratense L. Kentucky, United StatesNLGRPNot Available2007DEVELOPEDCultivarMedium red clover adapted to the same general area as Kenland in the central clover region of the US. One cycle of selection in KVMRS for seed yield was conducted in 2000 in Oregon by the following protocol: A spaced plant nursery was established near Brownsville, OR. At flowering, those plants with the lowest number of heads per plant were eliminated and the remainder (about 10%) were allowed to cross and produce seed. This population constituted the breeder seed of the Kenway cultivar that was released. In four of six forage yield trials conducted in Kentucky, Kenway yielded slightly less forage than Freedom! but was not significantly different in two other trials. Virus diseases were not prevalent in these trials. It is expected, however, that use of the Kenway cultivar should provide insurance against loss of stand and forage and seed yields in severe virus epidemics. 1737679PI 651018

Kentucky, United StatesNLGRPNot Available2005DEVELOPEDGenetic materialPlant phenotype is characterized by unifoliolate, bifoliolate, and trifoliolate leaves with normal or elongated petioles, shortened internodes, and a generally dwarfed appearance. Early seedling growth is very abnormal, but later under long days, stems elongate and normal appearing flowers appear. Plants are self fertile and selfs produced normal and unifoliolate progenies in approximately equal numbers. The character is apparently inherited in a complex manner and it is not possible to assign gene symbols at this time. Cytological examination indicated normal meiosis.1678427PI 639690

Leaves of plants of the cultivar vary from three to eight leaflets and occasionally produce cornucopia-shaped leaflets varying up to three. Plants vary in number of multiple leafleted leaves from 0 to 10 depending on size and number of leaves per plant. At close spacing 50% of plants have multiple leaflets and 33% have two or more multiple leaflets per plant.1671127PI 638509
259PI 638505'Southern Belle'Trifolium pratense L. Florida, United StatesW62005DEVELOPEDPRE 02/03/2005CultivarSuperior to all other known red clover cultivars in resistance to the several root-knot nematode species. In a greenhouse evaluation, Southern Belle had lower galling and egg mass scores than Cherokee. Also shows lower powdery mildew ratings. Equal to Cherokee in northern anthracnose susceptibility. Has annual and five year mean total seasonal dry matter yields not different from Cherokee, and similar to yield performance data. The primary yield advantage of both Southern Belle and Cherokee over other red clover cultivars when grown at more southern locations has been in first harvest yields, due to the non-dormancy (earlier spring growth) of Southern Belle and Cherokee. First harvest yields were approximately 1000 kg/ha greater than cultivars developed at more northern locations. Total seasonal yields at southeastern locations usually equal or exceed central and northern USA developed cultivars. At Gainesville, FL, over 70% of spaced plants flowered before plants of any cultivars developed at more northern locations.1671123PI 638505

In 1995 at Lexington, drying rate in the fist day of curing of 22.5%-1 hour compared to Kenland which had a slower rate (D=10.07 of 17.7%).
