Select the tab for the type of search. Each tab has everything you need to do to perform that type of search.

(Results of more than 500 will not return images.)

This search will show only accessions that have material that may be requested, including those not seasonally available.
You may list accessions with separators (commas or semicolons, as shown below) or by entering them on separate lines, such as
PI 651794
PI 651649
PI 651650

269G 33949UC Feral Synth OneCannabis sativa L. NE9FIELD2025Genetic materialDeveloped during Brummer SAC project [ See https://portal.nifa.usda.gov/web/crisprojectpages/1027227-development-and-characterization-of-diverse-hemp-germplasm-for-submission-to-the-npgs.html ]. Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) has been cultivated on the North American continent since the 17th century for ropes, sails, and clothing. Its cultivation waned due to competition from cotton and, later, the appearance of synthetic fibers. In the 20th century, it was first restricted (1937 Marihuana Tax Act), then encouraged during World War II (“Hemp for Victory”), and later prohibited under the 1970 Controlled Substances Act, with various efforts to eradicate it from the landscape—achieving mixed success. Currently, feral hemp populations remain across multiple states. These surviving and locally adapted populations could be of crucial importance to the future of the national hemp industry. They preserve genetic diversity adapted to cold climates, short seasons, and low-fertility soils in marginal conditions, with presumably good resilience against pests and diseases. This historic germplasm holds pre-breeding potential for all types of Cannabis production. In recent years, relaxation of regulations and growing interest in hemp have prompted the need to preserve these resources at the USDA NPGS, and hundreds of collected wild seeds have entered germplasm collections. These small seed lots are of varying quality and seed increases must be done to produce seeds available for distribution to NPGS customers. However, because hemp is wind-pollinated and day-length-sensitive, and usually dioecious, seed increases must be done under isolation, which is difficult due to their abundant production of pollen and the small size of pollen making exclusion difficult. As an alternative to distributing many individual accessions, in this project, we aimed to create a large random mating population derived from 92 representative feral synthetic accessions from Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and New York. An approximately equal number of seedlings (males and females) from each entry were intercrossed for three generations. In each cycle, we collected seeds from every female plant and monitored maternal lineages. In the final round, we grow the plants to generate a larger volume of seeds, which we mixed in a balanced fashion to maintain diversity. The resulting seed lot was submitted to the USDA NPGS and is accessible to breeders and scientists as UC Feral Synth One (G 33949). In the 2025 season, we are evaluating this population in three different states—Geneva, NY; Madison, WI; and Davis, CA—to assess diversity, general agronomic performance, and potential disease and insect resistances. 2172669G 33949
270G 33956Colombia 90Cannabis sativa L. ColombiaNE9Not Available2025DEVELOPEDPRE 2025Uncertain improvement statusSeeds from a maintenance grow that used seeds originally obtained from Colombian export bud bought in Amsterdam in the early 1990s c. 1990.

This type of cannabis was fairly common on coffeeshop menus in the 1990s. Sold as ‘Colombian’ or ‘Mexican’ it was clearly an outcrossed landrace - ie landrace crossed to a modern hybrid.

We strongly suspect the hybrid was some form of ‘Northern Lights’
Donor Narrative: ""1990 Colombian (Colombian Gold x Northern Lights), Type: Sativa-dom, Outdoors: Mid-October to mid-November. Resurrected directly from Colombian export seeds stored since c. 1990. Big yields and intense uplifting highs that edge on psychedelic.
‘Colombia 90’ is a Colombian cross we believe almost certainly originates from combining a ‘Colombian Gold’ landrace with an old ‘Northern Lights’. Whorled phyllotaxy may show during vegetative growth. Low odour during flower. Sativa architecture but with high bud density. Cures to sweet citrus herbal scents, a total antithesis to modern hybrids. Very hardy and stress tolerant. Highly recommended for outdoors in regions with mild autumns. Feminized seeds.

The male is ‘DNCBD’ and there are 13 females [maintained as separate inventories]: ‘Casper OG’, ‘Forbidden Gelato’, ‘Punch Drunk Ape’, ‘Red Velvet Tart’, ‘VR2’, ‘(Wild Thai/(Hawaiian Snow/9# Hammer))’, ‘RBF1’, ‘TMHRBF 1’, ‘Guava Jam #9’, ‘(African Bread/Spectrum EC11)’, ‘(Cali-O S1)’, ‘Thai’, ‘Vietnamese’. The male, DNCBD [see pedigree for ‘Umpqua’: https://aosca.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/HPDEC2004_Arcadia_Umpqua.pdf] was included in Jacob Toth’s dissertation [https://ecommons.cornell.edu/handle/1813/112073] to evaluate day neutrality. [Curator’s understanding is that Umpqua is a F1; C16 x DNCBD. Jacob Toth used Umpqua population for the Early1 bsa because the F1 segregates 1:1 ({GMS note} perhaps the parents were not as inbred as they assumed-- one parent is homozygous for autoflower1)]. 295G 33901'Narlısaray'Cannabis sativa L. TurkeyNE9Not Available2024DEVELOPEDPRE 2024LandraceReceived from Robert Clarke at Cornell Hemp Grain & Fiber Field Day in Geneva, NY. See attached PDF from Donor. Donor verbatim notes: [“Narlisaray is a traditional low-THC fiber landrace still grown in Narlisaray village of Turkey as it has been for generations. Here is a link to Quest for the Golden Fiber our 30 minute documentary which shows the local cultivation for fiber and seed. Include it in the passport info if you feel it will be appropriate. I wish we had more visuals to accompany accessions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c99uCi6xO5c I also wrote an article about Anatolian hemp history etc. which I include here: Narlisaray is an open-pollinated landrace or farmers’ variety that also will soon (we hope) be trialled in the EU and added to the EU certified list of cultivars. Then it can be defined and designated as a ‘cultivar’. Note: This was the path followed by ‘Finola’ which started as a far northern feral accession sourced from the Vavilov Institute which was population selected to morph it into a grain seed cultivar. This process was relatively quick and is an interesting topic for those studying feral populations. If it only takes a few generations to select a seed propagated cultivar, then how long does it take a cultivar to revert to the feral phenotype? Narlisaray’s greatest strength is as a long fiber and biomass producer. Historically it was used for making rope. Biomass is one of the most promising present-day uses of Cannabis. At its native 38 degrees latitude (comparable to San Francisco) it often reaches four to five meters and flowers in time to mature seed. Grown farther north it will flower very late allowing larger biomass accumulation, but precluding seed production. Seed would best be produced in Turkey or elsewhere at lower latitude and supplied to northern farmers. The seeds we donated were made three years ago and stored in a farm barn. Viability in September was 25%. We will collect more fresh seed this winter, but you should have enough for phenotyping and multiplication this spring. If not please let us know in time to mail more to you. Maybe to be more efficient we could simply supply you with clean, fresh seed to send to Svalbard. How much would they need? Being an open-pollinated landrace it is a population inbred between naturally and agronomically selected males and females. Therefore on a population level they are relatively true breeding and express their characteristic phenotype, and on an individual plant level there is considerable phenotypic variability offering potential for selective breeding. Credit should go to generations of Narlisaray farmers. Note: Narlisary means "Pomegranate Palace” and is actually spelled Narlısaray in Turkish. The undotted “ı” is a Turkish vowel.”]2169831G 33901

There’s a high chance that somewhere during its history in Spain, whatever original landrace was outcrossed to ‘Northern Lights’ or ‘Skunk No. 1’. Donor Narrative: Collected in Samtay (Xamtay / Samtai) district in winter 2023 at latitude 20° N in Northeast Laos. A Hmong hemp landrace cultivated by Hmong villages in the highlands of Houapanh Province, Northeast Laos. Traditional Hmong cannabis culture involves cultivating hemp for fibre, which is used in textiles, including clothing, shoes, and funeral garments. Side note: The widespread belief among westerners that the Hmong traditionally cultivate ganja is reflective of very recent social changes among Hmong communities that have migrated south into Central Laos and North Thailand, where they find themselves in economically precarious and socially marginalized positions. In so far as there can be said to be a Hmong drug crop, this is poppy, which some villages began cultivating in the 19th Century, mostly to answer demand from urban China and cities such as Vientiane and Bangkok.. Wisconsin, United StatesNE9PLANT2023DEVELOPEDNEAR 202043.09814456, -89.53324282CultivarDonor notes: The female parent comes from seed supplied by Erdman Family Farms, WI (Tim Erdman) in March, 2019, and donated to the UW-Madison. The seed originated from Colorado and was called “Electra/Chardonnay Hybrid” (ECH).
The male parent comes from seed supplied from Honey Gold Processing in CO in May, 2019. The genotype was called “Cherry Wine Hybrid” or sometimes “3W1” or “3WS”. Honey Gold Processing doesn’t sell seed anymore, but here was a description from their old website (now taken down):
Badger 1 was grown outside in 2020 by Erdman Family Farms and was found to be a good producer of cannabinoids with high CBD/THC ratios and grew well in the field. Total THC reported 0.25%.
A leaf sample from a female Badger 1 plant grown in the greenhouse was taken and genomic DNA was made from it. This DNA was sent to Phylos (April 2020) for sequencing using their platform and it was recorded in their “Galaxy”. A genotype report can be found here: https://phylos.bio/sims/variety/PGTH-412983/uw-madisonwcic/badger
I also have genome sequence files for this if needed. DNA was also sent to Medicinal Genomics (July 2020) for sequencing using their “StrainSeek” platform and to be recorded in their Kannapedia. A report can be seen here: https://www.kannapedia.net/strains/rsp11614. I also have sequencing files if needed.
Badger 1, Badger 3, Badger 5A, Badger 5B, Badger 5C, Badger 5D, Badger 5M, Badger 5P, and Badger 5R, were all grown in the 2023 field trial done by Shelby Ellison lab at the UW-Madison.
Badger 1 Hemp Seed. 150g, ~10,000 seeds. Feminized. 11/16/23. > 90% Germ. Accession was (or attempted to be) included in the 2024 USDA-ARS Hemp Germplasm Laboratory and HudsonAlpha genome sequencing and phenotyping trial in PGRU Wellington Zone 01 [curator notes 2024:] Highly susceptible to powdery mildew. Feminized. In a very preliminary screening of several plants in 2024, plants seemed likely susceptible to septoria.

Again, not all of these showed the early flower phenotype.
About 5 pounds of 100% feminized seed were harvested and the line was named “Badger 2”. Badger 1, Badger 3, Badger 5A, Badger 5B, Badger 5C, Badger 5D, Badger 5M, Badger 5P, and Badger 5R, were all grown in the 2023 field trial done by Shelby Ellison lab at the UW-Madison.

One female from each pheno was masculinized and allowed to pollinate the remaining plants (each pheno, wide and narrow leaf, was kept separate from the other. The narrow leaf cross did not work well due to the masculinized female not having pollen, so this experiment was tossed. The wide leaf group did well and produced about 1 pound of 100% feminized seed from 12 plants. This line was named “Badger 3”. Badger 3 DNA was sent to Genewiz for whole genome sequencing (45x Illumina short reads). I have files for this if needed.
Badger 3 was grown in field tests, done by the Shelby Ellison lab, in 2021, and 2023. These field tests looked at several phenotypic qualities as well as potency data. Here is a link to 2021 results: https://www.emergingcropswi.org/hemp.html.

Donor narrative (minor edits zjs): "Collector: Sascha Eckstein, Date of Collection: May 2019, Type: Landrace Purpose: Dry-sieved charas (‘hashish’); bhang (seeded inflorescence and leaf for food and drink); culinary seed. Narrative: Seeds purchased with the help of habitual charas smokers in Peshawar, Northwest Pakistan during the summer of 2019. In and around Peshawar are several bazaars where charas is sold in stores. The charas available is produced in Pakistan and Afghanistan – for example in Tirah Valley (Pakistan) or Logar (Afghanistan). According to the men who helped with obtaining the seeds, the seeds originated in Afghanistan. This may be true.Based on the appearance of the seeds, they are very likely from the type of landrace cultivated for charas production in the Hindu Kush. (It would be unlikely that they are from monsoonal areas of Pakistan such as Punjab.) The germination rate of the seeds proved too low for the seeds to be sold to other collectors. [Additionally, the donor describes this accession as a charas landrace, see fascinating donor remarks: REMARKS

Donor passport: “Collector: ECKSTEIN Sascha. Date of Collection: May 2019. Type: Landrace
Purpose: Dry-sieved charas (‘hashish’); bhang (seeded inflorescence and leaf for food and drink); culinary seed. This may be true.
Based on the appearance of the seeds, they are very likely from the type of landrace cultivated for charas production in the Hindu Kush. (It would be unlikely that they are from monsoonal areas of Pakistan such as Punjab.) The germination rate of the seeds proved too low for the seeds to be sold to other collectors.” [Donor describes this accession as a charas landrace, see:] REMARKS

Donor Notes: Date of Collection: 1990; Place of Collection: Amsterdam; Type: ‘Heirloom’; Purpose: Sinsemilla; Narrative: The original seeds from which this accession was produced were purchased in Amsterdam in 1990. In late 1980s and early 1990s, common practice in the Amsterdam cannabis scene was for packs of seeds (and sometimes cuttings) to be sold by ‘travelling salesmen’ who plied their trade in ‘coffeeshops’. The collector of this accession brought several packs of various strains in this way and then stored them in a freezer. During the period of storage, the seeds were repackaged and the original branded labelling was mislaid. The brand was not one of the abiding big name Dutch seedbanks. This accession is from a pack that was labelled ‘Afghaan’. The collector was able to germinate a few of these seeds – enough to maintain the strain. Two distinct variants are exhibited by ‘Afghaan 90’, one semidwarf broad-leafleted and one somewhat taller and comparatively narrow-leafleted. Given that during its time in the west this strain is likely to have undergone several years of intensive individual selection for use as sinsemilla, this accession can’t accurately be described as a landrace. There is no culture of sinsemilla production in the Afghan or Pakistani Hindu Kush (see recent UN Afghanistan Cannabis Surveys). Moreover, as evidenced by the cannabinoid profile of authentic Afghan landraces, there appears only to have been bulk selection of a largely unconscious kind – probably over a period of centuries. Feedback on cannabis forums regarding ‘Afghaan 90’ consistently features reports of euphoria and a sense of well-being, which is in marked contrast to the reputation for dysphoria attached to other ostensibly pristine (i.e., never outcrossed) heirlooms such as ‘Afghani #1’.
Height: approx. 0.75 – 1.5 metres; Indoors: approx. 56 – 70 days; Outdoors: approx. October. Classification: C. sativa subsp. indica var. afghanica.

Donor narrative [this is the description written by Angus for kwikseeds.com] "Genetics: Cinderella 99. Type: Sativa-dom. Indoors: 50 days. Cindy 99 is a fantastic heirloom strain famed for its potent Haze high, mouth-watering tropical fruit flavours, and rapid finishing time—at just 50 days of 12/12. It's been called the "Holy Grail" for indoor growers looking for a Sativa with lightning-strike potency. Created by Brothers Grimm in the '90s, this stabilized hybrid is short-statured and heavily branched with long, dense colas, an excellent bract-to-leaf ratio, and outrageous resin production. Brothers Grimm shut down in 2002 and reopened in 2016 with resurrected seed stock. Kwik Seeds offers a North American continuation of the original '90s creation. It's the result of recombining two pure, parallel Cinderella 99 lines using a total of 18 parent plants. Vigor has been improved and some structural diversity added. All plants show mouth-watering citrus and fruit aromas, exceptional potency, and early maturation. This is the original Cinderella 99, a classic Sativa-type hybrid. As stated in the 1990s description: "her high is heavily influenced by Haze; clear, energetic & devastatingly psychoactive.... Above-average yields of crystal covered buds reeking of tropical fruit aromas can be harvested every other month once a mother plant is selected and asexually propagated." Donor Narrative: collected by Delicorganic. Maintained in Greece based on original early 1990s stock. in Rethimno, Crete. Type: Heirloom / Landrace. Purpose: Sinsemilla – but presumed derived from a Greek / Levantine hashish landrace. Narrative: Seeds were collected in the early 90’s from the mountainous region of Rethimno on the island of Crete. The strain was then maintained elsewhere in Greece by a collector. As with other Greek heirlooms, Cretan is now cultivated for bud production, not hashish (ie, resin), although it has many characteristics of the hash plant type. A fast-flowering strain with an incredible range of aromas, it has a complex cannabinoid profile including minor cannabinoids, medium-high THC, and markedly low CBD. Effects are like those of other Greek cultivars such as Kalamata Red: energetic and creative in small doses, but at higher doses very intense, calming, and mildly trippy. Aromas and flavours are herbal, hashy, and woody, with eucalyptus, helichrysum, turmeric, and dittany. Cretan doesn’t stretch like a pure Sativa but can reach 3 to 4 metres with strong branching and desriable short internodal spacing. Finishes mid to late October outdoors in Crete, with a flowering of 11 to 12 weeks. Cretan has acclimatized to the harsh environmental conditions of the mountainous regions in Crete. These include very hot summer days (40° to 45°C) and strong winds at 400 to 500 metres above sea level. Cretan farmers grew on rocky slopes to avoid police helicopters, so plants adapted to growing untended in rocky soil, with very little watering and no fertilizer. Guerilla growing techniques have resulted in a cultivar showing extremely vigorous individuals that can cope excellently under many different environmental stresses. Crete has a long tradition of guerilla cannabis cultivation. Here’s a genetic analysis of Cretan indicating a very rare landrace genotype with no known direct relatives. Height: 3 to 4 meters. Flowering: 11 to 12 weeks. Regional Harvest: Second half October. Yield: 500 to 600 grams of dried flowers per plant (outdoors). THC: 10% to 13%. Aromas: Herbal, earthy, woody, eucalyptus, helichrysum, turmeric, dittany. Taste: Hashy, herbal. High: Intense, calming, long-lasting, with slight body effect. Characteristics: Light-green / gold flowers” [Donor describes this accession as a heirloom landrace, see:] REMARKS

It’s said that ‘Deep Chunk’ was developed in America by a breeder named Tom Hill based on an Afghan landrace collected in 1970s Afghanistan. In my [Angus’s] view, ‘Deep Chunk’ can’t be considered an authentic Afghan landrace for this same reason, namely that it’s (1) undergone around five decades of intensive individual selection in the west and (2) been selected for production high-THC sinsemilla. Crucial to understanding Asian drug-type landraces is that there is no history or culture of ganja (ie, sinsemilla) production north of 30°N – roughly western Uttar Pradesh (UP) in modern India. North of UP the historic cannabis product shifts to bhang, not sinsemilla, throughout the Punjab. North again into the Northwest Frontier of Pakistan and the Hindu Kush mountains, and we are into desert Central Asia, where the primary product is charas (aka, dry-sieved hashish). In other words, 30°N in UP marks a dividing line between northern and southern populations, with northern populations having a long history of bulk selection, and southern populations having a long history of relatively frequent individual selection. For this reason, southern populations show a much higher prevalence of Type 1 individuals, ie individuals with a high ratio of THC to CBD. A field of ‘Deep Chunk’ plants has no equivalent in Afghanistan.. Genetics: ‘Deep Chunk’ (Californian – Afghan Hindu Kush). Type: Pure Indica-type. Indoors: c. 56 days. Outdoors: September. Classification: C. sativa subsp. indica var. afghanica. This is a Spanish continuation of the original Tom Hill Deep Chunk, a renowned true-breeding Indica-type strain with roots in the Afghan Hindu Kush. Work has been done to remove weak plants and ‘mutants’. The original landrace from which Deep Chunk was inbred is said to have been introduced to Northern California in the late 1970s. Crucially, it’s believed to have never been outcrossed. Deep Chunk is known for its fast flowering time, thick stems, short internodes, and excellent resin production. It’s a classic Indica that produces copious leaves and broad leaflets. Buds are dense and yield earthy, herbal aromas, including hashy pine, citrus, coffee, and chocolate. A weakness is its susceptibility to botrytis. A strength is its knock-down potency. True-breeding for many traits, this is an archetypal Indica that’s earned a reputation as an excellent breeding plant.”

Donor narrative: Collected by Angus Pretty November 2021 in Karnali Province, Nepal. Type: Multipurpose Himalayan Landrace. Purpose: Seed (culinary); fibre (textiles, cordage); drug (medicinal / intoxicating) – primarily hand-rubbed Himalayan charas. Narrative: A multipurpose Himalayan landrace cultivated for three main purposes: food, fibre, and drugs. Multipurpose landraces of this alpine type are found from Kathmandu to the eastern edge of Kashmir, particularly in regions such as Jumla and Kumaon, where a group closely associated with their cultivation is the Khas (aka, Pahari / Pahadi). I presume this is a pristine landrace, as to the best of my knowledge no modern hybrids have been introduced to Lower Dolpo. In addition, the region is remote and isolated, even by the standards of Mid-West Nepal. At its native latitude, this landrace takes about five months from sowing to harvest. Cannabis seeds are a crucial source of protein and fats in the Himalayan diet. A variety of dishes are prepared from them including condiments and beverages. Fibre was historically used to produce garments by communities such as the Khas – who are one of the main ethnic groups with a tradition of cultivating alpine cannabis landraces. To wear ‘hemp clothes’ was once a mark of their low social status. Shoes were made using cannabis fibre. Cordage continues to be used in some villages for essential tasks such as tethering livestock. Landraces from other ethnic Khas communities such as around Almora (Kumaoni) can show comparable mass and quality of bast fibre to European and Chinese hemp landraces. A third and highly valuable product of alpine Himalayan landraces is charas (resin), which is produced by hand-rubbing the inflorescences of standing or freshly cut plant females. This harvest usually peaks from mid-October to early November, depending on the local climate, time of sowing (May to July), and pressure from law enforcement. Charas is consumed by smoking with tobacco, either by refilling cigarettes and bidis with a blend of tobacco and charas, or in handheld chillum pipes or standing water pipes (hookahs / narghils). Because of the small scale of household cultivation and the low yield per hectare, most Himalayan charas from villages with a tradition of cultivation is consumed locally. Larger leaves may be eaten as greens (‘sabzi’).” [Donor describes this accession as a Himalayan multipurpose landrace, see:] REMARKS

Donor narrative: collected by ‘Landrace Genetics’ in Winter 2020 in Ghazni, Afghanistan. Type: Charas Landrace. Purpose: Seed (culinary); drug – primarily dry-sieved charas. Narrative: An Afghan charas landrace cultivated for production of dry-sieved charas (‘hashish’). The images show a field belonging to the farmer from who the seeds were sourced. Note how Afghan farmers plant close and dense rows as a European farmer would when growing a cultivar such as the seed variety Finola. Photos from Pakistan or Afghanistan showing fields of large bushy plants spaced far apart are an indicator of western influence, with which goes a much higher likelihood of contamination by Dutch hybrids.” [Donor describes this accession as a charas landrace, see:] REMARKS

Donor/Collector passport information (also see G 33740):.. Donor narrative: Collected in Winter 2022 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Type: Charas landrace. Purpose: seed (culinary); drugs – dry-sieved charas or bhang. Narrative: An Indica-type charas landrace collected from the Helmand region of southern Afghanistan, winter 2022 harvest. Plants exhibit semidwarf architecture and broad leaflets – i.e., classic Indica architecture. Widespread large-scale cannabis cultivation in this province is a recent phenomenon and emerged around 2008 following intensive eradication campaigns implemented by Governor Atta Muhammad Nur across the traditional northern centre of charas production, Balkh Province.” [Donor describes this accession as a charas landrace, see:] REMARKS

Donor narrative: collected by Angus Pretty c. 2019 in Bolikhamsai Province, Laos. Type: Ganja landrace. Purpose: Ganja – i.e., sinsemilla / semi-sensi. Narrative: A ganja landrace cultivated by a household in Bolikhamsai Province of Central Laos. Large plants with long narrow leaflets and strongly scented inflorescences that express aromas such as citrus and musk. Potency ranges from moderate to high. Ganja landraces are a common household plant in rural Laos, specifically among ‘lowland’ communities such as the Lao and Phu Tai, in whose villages a few plants can still sometimes be seen next to other favoured plants such as lemon grass, basil, chilli, and papaya. Ganja landraces in this region are critically endangered by the introduction of modern hybrid seed, particularly since the period during which prohibition of cannabis cultivation was paused in Thailand.” [Donor describes this accession as a Ganja landrace, see:] REMARKS

Donor narrative: Collected by Angus Pretty c. winter 2021 in Viengthong District, Bolikhamsai, Laos. Type: Ganja landrace. Purpose: Sinsemilla or semi-sensi – i.e., Ganja. Narrative: A ganja landrace cultivated by farmers in Bolikhamsai Province of Central Laos. This region produces ganja for export to Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Wholesale product ranges in price depending on quality and potency. The best product is sown around August and harvested around February, thereby allowing buds to ripen during the dry season. Farmers ideally place fields with access to water supply from streams or pools so as to irrigate crops outside rainy season. Other factors such as optimal soil type (rich but well-draining soil), preparing ridges for drainage, plus correct spacing are crucial for a good end-product. Potency of plants in these populations ranges from moderate to high.
