Select the tab for the type of search. Each tab has everything you need to do to perform that type of search.

(Results of more than 500 will not return images.)

This search will show only accessions that have material that may be requested, including those not seasonally available.
You may list accessions with separators (commas or semicolons, as shown below) or by entering them on separate lines, such as
PI 651794
PI 651649

When searching a range of accessions, use the Advanced Search tab with the Accession Identifier Range criterion.

The more information you provide, the better the search will be.

NANot Available2024Uncertain improvement statusSuckers in Asian Collections bed AC-C-04 from potentially multiple parent trees, NA 60687-R (and possibly also -P) and NA 62530-H. These accessions had different sources, but represent valuable wild-origin variation in the case of the former and potentially different wild origin in the case of the latter (the parent plants were cultivated, but likely of local wild origin). NA 60687 was collected in Anhui Province during the USNA 1988 Huangshan Expedition under field collection numbers SAS-040/SAS-L/SAT88058. The latter was collected by Dr. Clifford Parks under field collection number 85C-31 from two cultivated trees in Jianxi Province, on the edge of Lushan; the record insinuates a likely local wild origin.2168753NA 87775

Seedling from a tree (35' tall, heavily flowering) growing at a private residence in Raleigh, North Carolina; that tree was itself a seedling from the JC Raulston Arboretum. Seed was generated in an attempted cross using Pinckneya pollen, but this seedling did not display hybrid traits, and flow cytometry confirmed it as pure Emmenopterys.2154535NA 85952

6NA 85964NA 85964Emmenopterys henryi Oliv. NANot Available2016Cultivated materialFull name as recorded at U.S. National Arboretum: Emmenopterys henryi. This plant bore a Morris Arboretum tag with their greenhouse number 2007x112 (indicating it was propagated in 2007; per Elinor Goff, it was not accessioned at Morris Arboretum and was only assigned a greenhouse number) and "Longwood plant #1". It may be a propagation of Longwood Gardens accession 2000-0674*A, which flowered for the first time in 2009. This young plant was preparing to flower during the FONA Plant Sale (year uncertain--just several years prior to 2019), and was left for Arboretum staff to view in bloom. Per Elinor Goff, it is a cutting grown from Longwood's accession 2000-0674, which they received from Camellia Forest nursery (presumably in 2000). Their catalog description from that year does not indicate clearly the provenance of their material. -SBL2154546NA 85964
