This search will show only accessions that have material that may be requested, including those not seasonally available.
You may list accessions with separators (commas or semicolons, as shown below) or by entering them on separate lines, such as

| 0 | PI 681655 | 'Verdin' | Phaseolus vulgaris L. | Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave, Mexico | GSPI | | Not Available | 2017 | DEVELOPED | | | | | | | Verdin was derived from the triple cross SXB114/DOR605//SXB made in 2003 at CIAT's headquarters, Cali, Colombia. Both parents, SXB 114 and SXB 123, were selected under drought stress and the bean golden yellow mosaic virus (BGYMV) resistance of DOR 605 (Beebe et al., 2008) . The aim of the cross was to introduce the BGYMV resistance into high-yielding erect drought tolerant black bean breeding lines. Verdfn was developed through pedigree selection combined with five seasons of mass selection in different locations of Colombia, _S .A. The F1 was obtained by gametic selection and ,mass selection in the F2 was conducted under drought stress at CIAT, Cali, Colombia. Individual selections were inoculated in the .F2-3 (anthracnose) and F5-6 selections were made ·on the basis of plant type and seed color; combined with mass selections for angular leaf spot in the F4 and for seed yield under drought stress in F5, F7 and F8 generations. The F6-8 derived line was introduced to Mexico in 2_009 coded as SEN70; this breeding line was extensively field tested across years and locations in Guanajuato, Veracruz and Chiapas, Mexico. Verdin exhibits the type-II upright short vine (indeterminate) growth habit (Singh, 1982). Plants average 59 cm in height. are more upright ihan Negro Jama pa, and exhibit an overall upright appearance similar to Negro Tacana . Verdfn produces purple blossoms, mature pods are yellow-cream in color and seeds are small (22 .9 g100 seeds-1) opaque black. One of the most outstanding characteristic of this cv. is its earliness, since in tropical and subtropical areas, Verdin reaches physiological maturity at 67 d after planting with a range between 64 and 70 d, depending on season and location of southern Mexico, compared with a range of 73 to 75 d and mean of 73.3 d for Negro Jamapa. Such earliness allows Verdfn to reduce yield losses due to terminal drought. Verdin is resistant to anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum lindemuthianum (Sacc. and Magnus) Lams. | 1947842 | PI 681655 |
