Select the tab for the type of search. Each tab has everything you need to do to perform that type of search.

(Results of more than 500 will not return images.)

This search will show only accessions that have material that may be requested, including those not seasonally available.
You may list accessions with separators (commas or semicolons, as shown below) or by entering them on separate lines, such as
PI 651794
PI 651649
PI 651650
When searching a range of accessions, use the Advanced Search tab with the Accession Identifier Range criterion.

The more information you provide, the better the search will be.

0PI 696161'USDA Fortress'Hordeum vulgare L. Oklahoma, United StatesPVPONot Available2021DEVELOPEDCultivarUSDA Fortress is a high yielding, six-rowed, mid-season maturing, winter feed barley adapted to the Southern Plains and the first multiple-aphid resistant barley cultivar in the U.S. USDA Fortress is the result of a repeated, modified backcross between greenbug resistant ‘Post 90’ and Russian wheat aphid resistant source R012. USDA Fortress is highly resistant to both greenbug and RWA. Seedling screening under quarantine in the greenhouse suggests that Fortress is also highly resistant to hedgehog grain aphid, HGA, a newly introduced aphid pest of small grains in the U.S. Over 18 location years, in the absence of aphids, grain yield of USDA Fortress was 23% and 12% greater than Thoroughbred and Post 90, respectively. Thoroughbred had a higher than average test weight (49 lbs/bu) while Post 90 and USDA Fortress had average test weight (48 and 47 lbs/bu, respectively). USDA Fortress has stable grain yield over state-wide variability in climatic conditions including drought. 2111371PI 696161
