Locality: Two areas sampled between Ottawa and North Utica including Starved Rock State Park (Lover's Leap and also LaSalle/Tonti Canyon) in Deer Park Township (T33N R2E) and also along IL 71/Courtney Street on bluffs above Illinois River in South Ottawa Township (T33N R3E).

Comment: Originally collected leaf tissue samples from seven wild specimens. Two genets sampled in South Ottawa Township separated by approximately 250 yards. Five genets sampled in Deer Park Township including three in LaSalle Canyon and two on Lover's Leap. Distance between the specimens sampled in the two areas/townships is 6.7 miles. Geontypes at both areas exhibit similar growth habits growing on similar habitats. Coordinates provided refer to sample #1 in South Ottawa Township. Coordinates for the other genets sampled may be provided upon request.
