Narrative
'OHxF 69 (Daynit)(CPYR 1343). A semi-dwarf, disease resistant rootstock clone. Intermediate vigor. Induces early, heavy production, especially of Bartlett.Plant patent 5559 issued 14 September 1985. The OHxF Series (Brooks Selections) originated near Forest Grove, Oregon, by Lyle A. Brooks from seed obtained at Agriculture Canada Research Station, Surnmerland, B.C. Old Home x Farmingdale. From several thousand seedlings, Brooks, Melvin N. Westwood, and Porter Lombard selected and evaluated in the orchard less than 500 candidates. Thirteen have been introduced commercially; all are resistant to fire blight, pear decline, and woolly pear aphids; they produce no or few suckers; propagation (with difficulty) is by hardwood cuttings. The Brooks Selections are compatible with Pyrus communis varieties and appear to be compatible with Asian pear varieties. - Brooks and Olmo Register of Fruit and Nut Varieties
