Narrative
DS1260-2 is a mid maturity group IV soybean germplasm line with reduced mature seed damage (less visual mold, wrinkling, toxins, discoloration, etc.) when subjected to hot humid conditions during plant maturation and dry down. DS1260-2 has lower levels of Phomopsis seed decay (Diaporthe longicolla), seedcoat wrinkling, purple seed stain (Cercospora kikuchii), green seed, and toxins (nivalenol, cercosporin, cytochalasin H, and cytochalasin J), but higher seed germination, than susceptible checks. DS1260-2 is resistant to frogeye leaf spot (Cercospora sojina Hara), stem canker (Diaporthe phaseolorum var. meridionalis), and moderately resistant to charcoal rot (Macrophomina phaseolina) and race 3 (HG Type 5.7) of soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines Ichinohe). DS1260-2 is susceptible to races 1, 3, 7, and 25 of Phytophthora root and stem rot (Phytophthora sojae), while having mixed reactions to races 4 and 17. DS1260-2 has indeterminate stem termination, purple flowers, gray pubescence, tan pod walls, imperfect black hila, and yellow seed coats. Seeds of DS1260-2 have 35.5% protein (47.1% protein meal) and 18.3% oil (13% moisture), and weigh 10.1 g/100 seeds. Mature plants are 106 cm tall and have a 1.1 lodging score (1-5).
