This variety was brought from Iowa about 1921. It was then grown in the Hilltop area until about 1931 when Foster first received it.

Original source of variety was Iowa Silvermine. About 28 years of culture on the Foster farm. Good isolation since Foster practiced strict selection for pure white kernels. Yellow kernels very seldom showed in later years.
