Narrative

pistachio 45 rootstock terebinthus. Notes from Mr. H. H. Bakkalian: "This is used as a stock. The fruits are white when unripe and become gradually red. The small tree looks quite showy when covered with these red clusters; the bright red becomes darker and darker as the fruit grows riper. Some time after it is picked it takes the green color, which can be seen on the seeds shipped."
