| 14 | RSD 2014002 | S4R-site 53 | Murraya ovatifoliolata (Engl.) Domin | Queensland, Australia | RIV | | Not Available | 2014 | DONATED | 12/17/2014 | | | | | Wild material | According to the donor (email of 2014-12-19) "The Murraya exotica is actually Murraya ovatifoliolata. Some "experts" will tell you this is not a "good species" but rather just a form of paniculata or exotica, but that is a load of rubbish. It is distinct morphologically and many years ago I did some isozymes on it and found it was homozygous at a different Rf position; I also produced some hybrids with paniculata and got heterozygous banding...probably would have made an interesting paper but I have to stay focussed on issues of commercial relevance. I don't think it has much value from a citriculture point-of-view but worth having in your collection... It produces a lot less flowers and fruit than paniculata/exotica, so I was lucky to get seed when gathering the Micromelum." (RR Krueger, 2015-03-03) | 1924318 | RSD 2014002 |

Jack | California, United States | | | Historic | 2012 | COLLECTED | 05/24/2012 | | | | | Cultivated material | This accession was collected because it will probably be (should be) removed as a part of protecting the original 'Parent Washington' navel from HLB (M paniculata is an alternate ACP and HLB host). It was collected because Manjunath Keremane (or possibly his wife, Chandrika Ramadugu) "thought maybe" that its flowers were larger than other M paniculata accessions. But, any way, all propagations died and who cares, anyway? (RR Krueger, 06/27/2012) | 1902382 | RRUT 508 |

Domin | Queensland, Australia | RIV | | Not Available | 2002 | DONATED | 02/04/2002 | | | | | Wild material | Information from the donor (email of 05/23/2002): "...they are Murraya ovatifoliolata collected from a remnant patch of 'Dry rainforest' which is referred to as 'Wongarra Scrub.' Most of this native vegetation has been cleared for sugarcane growing over the last few centuries, and only a few tiny patches remain. Obviously the species occurs more widely than just Bundaberg, and occurs commonly in rainforest areas. The seeds were collected from an area called 'The Hummock' which is where I live. And incidentally I found a couple of plants of Glycosmis trifoliata in this same patch of native scrub just the other week. They are growing about 100m from my driveway!" This accession was the only seedling to germinate from the 11 seeds received as RSD 2002017. It was renumbered with the clonal accession number RRUT 139 in 05/2004. This accession has been maintained only in the greenhouse. It appears morphologically distinctive compared to other accessions of Murraya spp maintained by the Repository. Since the taxonomy or Murraya is somewhat confused, the taxon with which it was received will be retained for the time being. (RR Krueger, 12/01/2009) | 1826730 | RRUT 139 |
