Uncertain improvement status
Full name as recorded at U.S. National Arboretum: Hovenia dulcis. Fairly prominent tree below road across from (south of) the Morrison Garden; it appears likely to have been planted, but may have been a spontaneous seedling that was allowed to grow long ago. It is growing near some (as-yet unaccessioned) Koelreuteria paniculata. Next year, it would be worth double-checking the ID just to make sure it really is H. dulcis, but that is by far the most likely species identity. -SBL Form received: unknown propagule type.
