Select the tab for the type of search. Each tab has everything you need to do to perform that type of search.

(Results of more than 500 will not return images.)

This search will show only accessions that have material that may be requested, including those not seasonally available.
You may list accessions with separators (commas or semicolons, as shown below) or by entering them on separate lines, such as

SpainCORSTEMNot Available1981DEVELOPEDCultivarFrom Brooks and Olmo: [synonyms: Castanyera (eastern Spain), Fertile de Coutard (France), Grande (northern Spain)].-Old cultivar widely distributed in western Europe; Introd. to the U.S. by Felix Gillet about 1885; trees first offered for sale in 1895. Barcelona has been the standard for the U.S. industry for the past century. Nut: large (3.2 g), brown; 43% kernel by weight, kernel fibrous, pellicle half removed by dry heat; husk 50% longer than nut, free-husking. Tree: very vigorous, more productive than most European cultivars. Highly resistant to big bud mites, intermediate response to eastern filbert blight. Incompatibility alleles S1 S2. Female inflorescences emerge early; midseason pollinizers recommended. This cultivar was introduced in 1885 by Felix Gillette as Grosse Blanche de Angleterre. It was later renamed as Barcelona after Gillette claimed it to be identical with the Barcelona of Spain. Barcelona is the commercial cultivar of the Pacific Northwest. The tree is large, spreading, and vigorous. The nut is medium to large, oval to triangular in cross-section outline, with fairly flat base. It occurs in clusters of one to eight nuts. The shell is medium thick. It is described as rich brown with darker striping lost in pubescence on the upper one-third of the shell. The husk, one-third longer than the nut, opens and sheds the nut freely.1452009PI 557037
