Large mass of plants planted along the brickyard New York Ave. fenceline for many years, but weren't accessioned. According to Chris Carley, these were leftover seedlings from the 2006 or 2007 FONA Plant Sale, where they were used as a giveaway plant; he thinks they were from the California Forestry Department, but isn't sure. Some have continued to thrive, but many have died or had problems with foliage and root diseases and insects; the remaning individuals are slated for removal because they are too close to the power lines, and could interfere with Pepco's line work. -SBL2154954NA 86818
