Perennial, forming large multi-stemmed clumps with flowering occurring May-June displaying corollas that are pale lilac-colored. The habitat of B. woffordii is often at the base of slopes and lower slopes of hanging bluffs and ledges along the cliff faces, often in mesic situations (Floden and Schilling 2020) on shallow limestone outcrops.
