| 0 | PI 657133 | 'MARIA HUANCA' | Solanum tuberosum L. | Peru | NR6 | | | 2008 | DONATED | | | | | | Cultivar | This clone was released in 1987 with the name María Huanca as the first resistant variety to race P4A and P5A of G. paluda in Perú and Latín America. It is a cross between S. tuberosum subsp. andigena and S. tuberosum subsp. tuberosum - S. vernei hybrid. The tubers are oblong red skinned, the flesh is white with occasional purple splashes. The plant is erect and reaches a height of about 80 cm with small dark green folioles giving it a predominant andigena phenotype. Yields in experiment stations ranged from 30 to 60 t/ha and on farmers fields from 20 to 30 t/ha. In addition to being resistant to potato cyst nematode, it is resistant to race 1 and 2 of wart Synchytrium endobioticum, immune to PVX and hyper-sensitive to the common strain on PVY. It is tolerant to late blight (Phytophthora infestans) and to smut (Tecaphora solaní). It is susceptible to powdery scab (Spongospora subterranea), rizotocnia (Rhizotocnia solani), powdery mildew (Erysiphe cichoracearum) and phoma leaf spot (Phoma andigena). | 1753850 | PI 657133 |
