Mature plants are approximately 40-50 cm tall. It has an early growth in the spring and seed production is very limited or inexistent. It was tested in 3 locations with average herbage accumulation between 10 and 15 Mg/ha/year. When the plant was harvested every 5 weeks, the mean crude protein and in vitro digestible organic matter concentrations were 11 and 54%, respectively. It is persistent under grazing and there was no reduction in the stand when was grazed from 2 to 7 weeks regrowth interval.
