Has good straw strength and resists lodging. Matures 6, 7, and 9 days later than Newbonnet, Cypress, and Bengal, respectively. Moderately resistant to rice blast caused by Pyricularia grisea and sheath blight caused by Rhizoctonia solani. Lemma and palea are straw colored with pronounced anthocyanin pigmentation.
