Info. from Crop Sci. 5(2):199 (1965) -- has earliness, short plant type, and some tolerance to fusarium wilt. Comparative data available for lint percentage, yarn strength, yield (chief advantage is that it has increased yield over other Deltapine varieties when grown where verticillium wilt disease is a problem), tendency to regrowth (tested in wilt areas of Arizona), and erectness of stem. Cultivated.

Cultivar
Winter annual with seedlings resembling those of Dixie crimson clover
T. incarnatum
L., except they are less vigorous in the fall. In early spring, starts a wide branching growth that may be 20 to 28 inches high, with stems up to 40 inches long and 3/8 inch in diameter. Reaches full bloom in mid-May and seed is ready to combine in mid-June. Reaches full bloom 25 to 30 days after crimson and before summer perennails are in full production. Trifoliate leaflets 1 to 1 1/2 inches long, rounded at base, and pointed at tips. Leaves and stems are hairless. Leaflets frequently have prominent white V-shaped marks. Cylindrical inflorescense initially white and may have as many as 150 florets. Pods multi-ovular.

Cultivar
Info. from Crop Sci. 5(2):199 (1965) -- yields high with wide adaptation. Medium early maturity, rather indeterminate fruiting habit, high lint percentage, and small bolls. Selected for improved fiber strength and slightly larger bolls compared with parent. Some tolerance common diseases except for the Fusarium wilt-nematode complex. Comparative data available. Cultivated.
