The mean length of internode was 14.3 cm. The stalk diameters at 2nd, 5th and 10th internodes were 25.7, 24.5, 23.2, respectively. Internodes shape was Cylindrical and without any growth cracks. Bud furrows were absent. The buds on CP 14-1377 stalks were ovate with an emarginated basal wing region. The color of the buds was a shade of yellow 5Y 8/4. Leaf-sheaths pubescence was absent. The midrib color on the adaxial leaf side was white and the midrib color on the abaxial leaf side and leaf blade color was a shade of green-yellow 2.5 GY 5/8. Auricles were absent on both sides. The dewlap below the top visible dewlap was tall squarish and green-yellow (2.5 GY 6/10). The ligule color was green-yellow (2.5 GY 8/6). CP 14-1377 is resistant to brown rust (caused by Puccinia melanocephala H. & P. Sydow), orange rust (caused by Puccinia kuehnii E.J. Butler), smut (caused by Sporisorium scitamineum (Syd.) M. Piepenbr., M. Stoll & Oberw), Sugarcane mosaic virus strain E (mosaic) and ratoon stunt (caused by Leifsonia xyli subsp. xyli Evtsuhenko et al.) in Florida. CP 14-1377 is moderately resistant to leaf scald (caused by Xanthomonas albilineans Ashby, Dowson) and Sugarcane yellow leaf virus. It has acceptable freeze2137514PI 700115
