Select the tab for the type of search. Each tab has everything you need to do to perform that type of search.

(Results of more than 500 will not return images.)

This search will show only accessions that have material that may be requested, including those not seasonally available.
You may list accessions with separators (commas or semicolons, as shown below) or by entering them on separate lines, such as

1PI 617021LambadaFragaria ×ananassa Duchesne ex Rozier NetherlandsCORFRUITNot Available2000DEVELOPED1992CultivarLAMBADA Breeder: Centre for Plantbreeding and Reproduction Research (CPRO-DLO) P. box 16 - 6700 A-A Wageningen - The Netherlands. Lambada was selected in 1982. Tested under IVT-82044 and will be introduced in 1994. Entered for Breeders'Rights in 1990, received in 1993Most important characters: It has a strong, healthy erect plant habit, with rather long inflorecences, which makes picking fairly easy. The berries are very uniform, bright shiny red, firm with a strong skin (Although, it is not as firm and tough as Elsanta!). Furthermore it is a vigorous grower with a very good taste and a nice presentation. In the Netherlands it is later than Avanta but earlier than Elsanta. It is less productive than Elsanta. To increase its production it is advised to plant at a higher plant density what is now problem. (The normal distance within a row is about 25 till 30 cm in The Netherlands. Lambada can be planted at 20 cm distances within a row without problems.) Plant: globose, open, strong. Leaf: large dark green, with only 3 leaflets. Flowering: fairly early, with good developed stamen and as a consequence a good fruit set. Inflorescences: makes long flower-stalks with a moderate number of flowers. Fruit: big, conical with a bright red colour and slightly embedded seeds, calyx segments are reflexed, very juicy with a very good aroma. Ripening time: Later than Avanta but clearly earlier than Elsanta.Susceptibility for diseases: During the testing period Lambada was not susceptible to mildew (Sphaerotheca macularis), Alternaria alternata, wilt (Verticillium dahliae) and little susceptible to Botrytis cinerea. So far we know the variety is susceptible to red steel root rot (Phytophthora fragariae) and crown rot (P. cactorum).CPRO-DLO
