Select the tab for the type of search. Each tab has everything you need to do to perform that type of search.

(Results of more than 500 will not return images.)

This search will show only accessions that have material that may be requested, including those not seasonally available.
You may list accessions with separators (commas or semicolons, as shown below) or by entering them on separate lines, such as
PI 651794
PI 651649
PI 651650
When searching a range of accessions, use the Advanced Search tab with the Accession Identifier Range criterion.

The more information you provide, the better the search will be.

0PI 681720'Bella'Phaseolus vulgaris L. Puerto Rico, United StatesW6Not Available2017DEVELOPEDCultivar''Bella' is a multiple disease resistant white bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivar, adapted to the humid tropics that was developed and released cooperatively by the University of Puerto Rico Agricultural Experiment Station and the USDA-ARS. ‘Bella’, tested as breeding line PR1217-16, combines resistance to Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV), Bean common mosaic necrotic virus (BCMNV), Bean golden yellow mosaic virus (BGYMV), common bacterial blight caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. phaseoli and web blight caused by [Rhizoctonia solani J. G. Kühn (syn. Thanatephorus cucumeris (A. B. Frank) Donk.)]. The line also tolerates high temperatures and performs well in soils with low fertility. PR1217-16 was developed by pedigree selection to the F7 generation based on superior agronomic traits and commercial seed type. Marker- assisted selection was used to identify the presence of the bgm-1 gene and the SW12 QTL for resistance to BGYMV and the I and bc-3 genes for resistance to BCMV and BCMNV. Greenhouse inoculations were used to confirm the presence of the I and bc-3 genes and to screen the line for reaction to strains of common bacterial blight strains. The line was evaluated in field trials planted over a period of five years in Puerto Rico. Mean seed yields of 'Bella' were comparable with the check cultivars ‘Verano, ‘Morales’ and ‘Beníquez’. 'Bella' produced among the highest yields in the Bean Adaptation to Stress Environments (BASE) 120 trials planted at Isabela and Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico. 'Bella' has an indeterminate upright, Type II growth habit. In the June 2016 planting at Isabela Puerto Rico, 'Bella' initiated flowering 36 d, and reached harvest maturity 76 d after planting. 'Bella' has white flowers and white seed with an average weight of 24 g 100-1 seed. The seed size and ovoid shape are acceptable for green-shelled and dry bean production in the Caribbean.1948022PI 681720
