Select the tab for the type of search. Each tab has everything you need to do to perform that type of search.

(Results of more than 500 will not return images.)

This search will show only accessions that have material that may be requested, including those not seasonally available.
You may list accessions with separators (commas or semicolons, as shown below) or by entering them on separate lines, such as
PI 651794
PI 651649
PI 651650
When searching a range of accessions, use the Advanced Search tab with the Accession Identifier Range criterion.

The more information you provide, the better the search will be.

Both NM9D11A-PRR3 and NM9D11A-AN3 were subjected to an additional (i.e., fourth) cycle of selection for resistance to Phytophthora root rot and anthracnose, respectively. Fifty resistant genotypes from each Cycle 4 population were intermated by hand (i.e., NM9D11A-PRR4 ? NM9D11A-AN4) during 1999. The resulting population was evaluated in a field trial near Las Cruces, NM, that received reduced irrigation allotments (i.e., 50% of normal) during 2000 and 2001. In March 2002, phenotypic selection for early spring forage production was imposed on surviving plants. Fifty genotypes were selected and intermated under cage isolation in 2003 using leaf cutter bees to produce Syn. 1 breeder seed. Syn. 1 seed was harvested in total on all parents, bulked, and distributed for yield evaluations. Based on yield trial results, Syn. 2 breeder seed of NuMex Bill Melton was produced from 400 Syn. 1 progeny grown under cage isolation with pollination by honey bees in 2007 and 2008. Flower color of NuMex Bill Melton is almost 100% purple with a trace of white-flowered genotypes. Fall shoot regrowth height for NuMex Bill Melton exhibits a fall dormancy class 7 response. NuMex Bill Melton is resistant to anthracnose [caused by Colletotrichum trifolii Bain and Essary race 1] and Fusarium wilt [caused by Fusarium oxysporum Schlecht f. sp. medicaginis (Weimer) Snyd. and Hans], as well as, Phytophthora root rot [caused by Phythophthora megasperma Drechs., f. sp. Medicaginis (Kuan and Erwin)] and the spotted alfalfa aphid [Therioaphis maculata (Buckton)]. It is moderately resistant to bacterial wilt [caused by Clavibacter michiganense subsp. insidiosum (McCull)], blue alfalfa aphid [Acyrthosiphon kondoi (Shinji)], and the pea aphid [Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris)].1896751PI 664299
