SOY
2001
DEVELOPED

Cultivar
Early maturity group (MG) VII with determinate growth habit. Tested as a late MG VI strain but because matures four to five days later than Boggs, a late MG VI cultivar, released as a Group VII cv. Adapted to the southeastern U.S. where MG VII cultivars are normally grown. In USDA tests, averaged 94 cm height with a lodging rating of 2.0. Plants have white flowers, gray pubescence, and tan pod walls. Seeds yellow with variable buff hila. Seed size averages 14.1 g 100 seed-1. Seed quality good and seed protein and oil average 429 and 208 g kg-1 (dry wt. basis), respectively. Resistant to soybean cyst nematode, race 3 (Heterodera glycines), reniform nematode (Rotylenchulus reniformis), and stem canker disease (Diaporthe phaseolorum). Moderately resistant to Southern root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita).
