| 0 | RRUT 483 | 'Sugar Belle' | Citrus ×aurantium L. | Florida, United States | | | Historic | 2011 | DEVELOPED | 1970 | | | | | Cultivar | Information from DPI: "Released in 2009 by Dr Fred Gmitter, IFAS. It is a seedy variety resembling Minneola tangelo although smaller in size and having a late November maturity. Fruit color, flavor, tolerance to alternaria and earlier maturity are its main attributes. Florida Foundation Seed Producers, Inc granted the New Varieties Development and Management Corp the exclusive USA licensee for this variety. Must have license agreement with the New Varieties Development and Management Corp to propagate." More information, including licensing information, is available from FFSP and NVDMC. The most comprehensive information on this genotype is available from Dou and Gmitter (2007) and in the Intent To Negotiate, although the information regarding negotiations and licensing is no longer pertinent. See also Press Release 1 and Press Release 2 from the University of Florida. (RR Krueger, 06/26/2011) Due to various factors, management mandated that this accession be inactivated. Perior to inactivation, budwood was delivered to the Citrus Clonal Protection Program for VI processing and inclusion into the California citrus registration system. Thus ends the sordid saga of this genotype. (RR Krueger, 11/20/2015) | 1880292 | RRUT 483 |
