Translation: There was developed on Stalin's Experiment Station for vegetable crops and potatoes a new original bush form of cucumber, Hybrid No. 18. Growth of this hybrid up to the fruiting stage has vertical expansion of the main sprout, without growing points on the side branches. This main sprout is about 15 mm thick. Leaves are very large, sessile or with short petioles, 10-15 mm. Carolla of male and female flowers up to 50 mm. Main stalk, under heavy load of fruits during the period of mass-production, lies on soil. During this time the internodes are developing as well as petioles of leaves that reach 25-40 mm. Cylindric large green fruit has large terulose surface and compound black hairs. Fruit color dark green or slightly yellowish with white longitudinal stripes to middle of fruits. Plants reach 40-60 cm at end of season. Seed-bearing fruit is dark with reticulate net. Hybrid fruits late ripening, small yields.
