Russian Wheat Aphid evaluation. December, 2003. Greenhouse experiment. Twelve seeds of each entry planted in single replicate rows in flats. 16hr photoperiod; daytime 29-32C; night 21-26C. Seedlings infested at one-leaf stage, approx. one week after planting, by placing leaf segments containing 4-7 aphids at the base of each seedling. Aphid damage assessed approx. 3 weeks after infestation depending on severity of reaction on susceptible checks. (Nkongolo et al, 1989, Cereal Res. Commun. 17:227). Order #159089.
