Test 9408. Ten plants per accessions were infested with sunflower moth eggs at stage R5.2 and 10 heads were sprayed with Asana at stage R6. Muslin bags were applied to all 20 heads after Asana treatment. Heads were harvested at physiological maturity and head diameter measured to the nearest 0.5 cm. Seed was hand threshed and blown with a Hoffman seed blower to obtain well filled seed. Total weight per sample was obtained. The mean grams of seed per cm2 was obtained for each treatment. The % of control was calculated as follows: (grams of seed per cm2 from infested heads / grams of seed per cm2 from sprayed heads)*100. The % of control values (as reported in the 'ORGVALUE' field) was converted to the 1-9 rating scale.
