WHEAT.CBUNT.TULLN.20

Evaluation location: Niederösterreich, Austria
Common bunt (causal fungus Tilletia caries) incidence expressed as the number of infected spikes in 75 randomly chosen spikes per plot, reported as percent of the susceptible check, data from an unreplicated trial. Planted Nov. 4, 2020 on the BOKU experimental site in Tulln, Austria. Inoculated prior to sowing with a spore suspension of common bunt teliospores in a mixture of methylcellulose in water (2g of methycellulose for 1000mL of water). A composite of common bunt races prevalent in eastern Austria was used. Scoring took place between June 24 and July 21, 2020. Differentials carrying Bt1, Bt3, Bt4, Bt5, Bt6, Bt8, Bt9, Bt10, Bt11, Bt12, Bt13, Bt14, Bt15 and BtP had CB incidence below 10% and were considered resistant. Differentials carrying Bt0, Bt2, and Bt7 had CB incidence =>10%. Capo as the susceptible check entry averaged 78.67% incidence.
