Russian Wheat Aphid evaluation. Greenhouse experiment. Twelve seeds of each entry planted in single replicate rows in flats. 16hr photoperiod; daytime 29-32C; night 21-26C. Seedlings infested at one-leaf stage, approx. one week after planting by placing leaf segments containing 4-7 aphids at the base of each seedling. Aphid damage assessed approx. 3 weeks after infestation, depending on severity of reaciton on susceptible checks. (Nkongolo et al, 1989, Cereal Res Commun. 17:227). Order #181137
