Barley Stripe Rust Evaluation. Field evaluation at Davis, California. Planted December 7, 2005. Final disease ratings May 30-31, 2006. Initial infection occurred later in 2006 than in previous years. BSR was first detected on April 2. Few entries had high disease severity on the first observation date (May 9-12) but disease increased significantly and affected many entries severely by the final observation date (May 30-31), at which time the susceptible check cultivar Max that was repeated after every sixth row in the nursery had severity of 80-100% and infection type (IT) 8.
