2002 Fusarium Head Blight - Scab Evaluation of springs wheats. Brookings, South Dakota. Corn and oat kernels infected with Fusarium graminearum were spread weekly, starting at the jointing stage of most entries and continuing for three weeks. A conidial suspension was used to spray-inoculate plants beginning at the heading stage with a second inoculation one week later. Plots were mist-irrigated every evening from the first inoculation to the last disease scoring. From 5-15 spikes were evaluated per plot. Order #145757.
