Observation averages for a 2-year period during project, Stuttgart, Arkansas
Between 2008 and 2009, all 1794 accessions in the core collection were evaluated for three replicates, utilizing a randomized incomplete block design because of limited greenhouse space. Within each replicate (i.e., block), there were three to six sub-blocks employed to grow and measure all accessions' ratio for completion of the block or replicate. The two checks, susceptible Lemont and resistant Jasmine 85, which are widely used in studies for ShB, were randomly inserted in pairs in each sub-block to serve as standards for evaluation. Severity ratings varied from 0.23 to 1.00; resistant check Jasmine 85 was rated 0.47 while susceptible Lemont was rated 0.94. Note: results for some lines are averaged from 6 replications and others from 3 replications, with 3 plants per replication in both cases. Please contact the GSOR for the specific data.
