Comment: Collectors' notes: Gum Bumelia is a deciduous shrub or small to medium tree, 6 to 20 feet tall. Bark brown to gray with flattened ridges and deep furrows on mature trees. Branches short, stout, hairy, often with thorns; forming an oval crown. Leaves 2-3" long by 1 inch wide, entire, oblong to obovate, alternate or whorled; rounded apex, long tapered base. Undersides silvery tawny to reddish hairs. Fruits black, 1/4 - 1/2”, globular; occur singularly or in groups of 2-3, late summer. Scattered individuals. Seed collected off 1 plant.
