Locality: Mount Magazine State Park primarily localized to the north facing rims west of Brown's Spring, along Overlook Drive, Benefield East Loop Trail and Bear Hollow Trail, T6N R25W Sec. 20, 21, 22 and 24.

Environment description: Top of sky-island mountain. Localized along the rims just above steep cliffs. Higher abudance on north facing slopes.

Associated species: Juniperus virginiana, Sassafras albidum, Solidago nemoralis, Solidago ulmifolia, Solidago spp., Ptelea trifoliata, Muscadinia rotundifolia, Quercus acerifolia, Quercus stellata, Quercus velutina, Carya texana, Carya glabra, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Helianthus sp., Carpinus caroliniana, Rubus sp., Rosa sp., Rhus glabra, Rhus copallinum, Amelanchier arborea, and Physocarpus opulifolius.

Comment: A large, widespread population of at least 500 plants. Greatest distance between samples is 4.5 miles. Coordinates for each plant sampled may be provided upon request.
