Locality: Ouachita National Forest - Winona Wildlife Management Area/South Fourche Botanical Area. Approximately 20 miles southwest of Danville, along County Road 362, east of Scenic Highway 7. T3N R20W Sec. 23.

Environment description: Uplands and on bluffs; understory of pine-hardwood forest.
Number of plants sampled: 13
Associated species: Pinus taeda, Ilex opaca, Quercus alba, Carpinus caroliniana, Juniperus virginiana, Vaccinium sp., Ostrya virginiana, Vacciinium arboreum, Cornus florida, Smilax sp., Liquidambar styraciflua, Acer rubrum, and Viburnum rufidulum.
Comment: A widely scattered population with moderate abundance. Some capsules were just begining to split when collected.
