Narrative
Full name as recorded at U.S. National Arboretum: Buxus balearica. Two plants received: D2005-0661.001 and D2005-0661.004. This accession was tested in USNA DNA study and appears to be correctly identified as B. balearica. Historical note: In 1945, after the recovery works, between February 4th and 11th, the Yalta (Crimean) Conference was held in the Livadia Palace. The Leaders of the Anti-Hitlerite Coalition Countries--Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt--decided the fate of post-war Europe and the entry of the USSR into the war against Japan.
