Full name as recorded at U.S. National Arboretum: Pittosporum illicioides 'Strappy'. See page 279 of The Explorer's Garden by Daniel Hinkley; in it, he writes that it is "common in the interior of the island at relatively high elevations, seen and collected on the Central Cross-Island Highway near Tayuling. Collections from 1999 have proven to be a sensational, hardy, broad-leaved evergreen shrub, though seedling selection could result in a denser, perhaps even more textural form." (this refers directly to the collection Cistus attributes to this selection--SBL)
