Environment description: Sandhill ecoregion within the "Compass Lake Highlands" (a series of ancient coastal ridges in the area); towards the bottom of a sunny, north-facing slope leading down to a sinkhole pond. Elevation: 40 to 42 m. Slope: 20 percent. Aspect: North.
Number of plants sampled: 4
Associated species: Vaccinium arboreum; Carya glabra; Magnolia grandiflora; Magnolia virginiana; Quercus laurifolia; Callicarpa americana.
Comment: Trees from 8-22' tall, all multi-stemmed; were already dropping fruits; multi-stemmed seedlings present, 12-24" tall. Trees absolutely loaded with fruits; fruits large; fruits still quite green and juicy at processing total fruit weight: 737.61 g; total seed weight: 39.23 g.
