Comment: Multi-stemmed shrubs to 12 feet in height. Flowers begin blooming in spring prior to leaf emergence and may continue through leaf-out. Superficially resemble Cercis, and provide a nice overlap or "echo" in bloom period between the species. Golden yellow fall color. Seed pods are ornamental and persist through winter. Frequency: common, scattered. Seed collected from 4 individuals.
