Locality: Collected from five areas arounnd Sedona (Coconino and Yavapai Counties). Approximately 4.5 miles north-northeast of Sedona along the North Wilson Trail (10 plants sampled, 184-1, T18N R6E W 1/2 SE 1/4 Sec. 21); Canyon Rim Trail at Slide Rock State Park (five plants sampled, 184-2, T18N R6E W 1/2 NE 1/4 Sec. 17); Cibola Pass along Jordan Trail in the Secret Mountain Wilderness (four plants sampled, 184-3, T17N R6E NW 1/4 NW 1/4 Sec. 6); Along Dry Creek Rd at Lizard Head Trailhead (one plant sampled, 184-4, T17N R5E NW 1/4 SE 1/4 Sec. 3); and Boynton Pass along Aerie Trail (three plants sampled, 184-5, T18N R5E NE 1/4 SW 1/4 Sec. 32). The greatest distance between samples is 6.9 miles. Coordinates listed refer to the North Wilson Trail patch, but coordinates for each location may be provided upon request.

Associated species: Aquilegia sp., Arctostaphylos pungens, Artemesia sp., Garrya wrightii, Juniperus osteosperma, Juniperus scopulorum, Opuntia sp., Pinus edulis, Pinus pondersoa, Prunus demisa, Quercus gambellii, Quercus palmeri, Quercus spp., Robinia neomexicana, Solidago lepida, Vitis arizonica and Yucca sp.

Comment: The plants in this population are widely scattered but generally quite localized where they do occur. Plants were likely past peak seed ripening by 1-3 weeks at the time of collection. Occuring typically on slopes (generally west or east facing) but in some cases on flat ground.
