Description:
S16-3747GT is a line derived from the cross ‘S11-16653’ × ‘S11-5727RR2’ made in summer 2014 at the MU-FDRC at Portageville, Missouri. The female parent S11-16653 was developed by the MU-FDRC and commercially released in 2016 as a soybean cultivar. It is a conventional MG 5 (RM 5.3) soybean derived from the cross ‘S07-2680’ × ‘LG04-6000’ and has resistance to soybean cyst nematode (SCN) races 1 (HG type 2.5.7), 3 (HG type 5.7), and 5 (HG type 2.5.7), PRR (races 4 and 7), and stem canker (SC). S07-2680 was also developed by the MU-FDRC and is a breeding line resistant to SCN races 2 and 3 and SC. LG04-6000 was developed and released by the USDA-ARS and the Illinois Agricultural Experiment Station and represents the first American germplasm originated from the ‘Jilin 15’ (PI 436682). The male parent S11-5727RR2 is a RR2Y breeding line resistant to SCN races 2, 3, and 5, and SC, developed by the MU-FDRC. It is derived from the cross ‘S05-11482’ × ‘S08-8113’. S05-11482 is a soybean cultivar with resistance to SCN races 1, 2, 3, 5, and 14, southern root-knot nematode (SRKN), SC, sudden death syndrome (SDS), and frogeye leaf spot (FLS), and S08-8113 is resistant to SC but susceptible to SCN.
