Description:
'S11-16653C' was derived from the cross of S07-2680 and 'LG04-6000'. The maternal parent S07-2680 is a maturity group (MG) V, relative maturity (MG) 5.4, conventional (non-genetic modified) breeding line developed by the University of Missouri Fisher Delta Research Center. It was characterized as having determinate growth habit, white flower color, gray pubescence, tan pod wall color, and buff hila. S07-2680 was field tolerant to phytophthora root rot (Phytophthora sojae M.J. Kaufmann & J.W. Gerdemann), moderately resistant to stem canker (Diaporthe aspalathi Jansen, Castlebury & Crous), and resistant to frogeye leaf spot (Cercospora sojina K. Hara), reniform nematode (Rotylenchulus reniformis Linford & Oliveira), and soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines Ichinohe) races 1 (HG type 2.5.7) and 3 (HG type 5.7). S07-2680 derived from the cross of ‘S99-2281’ and S02-6143. The paternal parent LG04-6000 is a high-yielding early MG IV conventional soybean, developed and released by the USDA and the Illinois Experiment Station at Urbana for its diverse pedigree. It was characterized as having indeterminate growth habits, white flower, light tawny pubescence, brown pods, and black hila. LG04-6000 was resistant to race 7 and susceptible to race 4 of P. sojae. LG04-6000 was derived from the cross of ‘HS93-4118’ and LG97-9912.
