Narrative
S13-3851C is an early maturity group IV conventional soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] cultivar. It has a relative maturity of 4.4, indeterminate growth habit, plant height of 87 cm, resistance to lodging, dark green leaves, purple flowers, light tawny pubescence, and tan pod wall. Seeds have yellow cotyledons with yellow seed coats with intermediate seed luster and black hila. The 100-seed weight is 14.9 g, and seeds averaged 404 g kg-1 in protein and 231 g kg-1 in oil on a dry weight basis. S13-3851C is resistant to stem canker [Diaporthe phaseolorum var meridionalis Jansen, Castlebury & Crous] (SC)], sudden death syndrome [Fusarium virguliforme O’Donell & T. Aoki] (SDS)], charcoal rot [Macrophomina phaseolina Tassi Goid] (CR), and phytophthora root rot [Phytophthora sojae M.J.Kaufmann & J.W.Gerdemann]. S13-3851 showed high yielding potential and broad adaptability across 12 Mid-Southern states.

Description:
S13-3851C is derived from a cross between “S09-9838” x “LD04-13265”. S09-9838 was developed by the University of Missouri as a MG V non-GMO line with high oil content (246.1 g Kg-1), resistance to stem canker, and field tolerance to sulfonylurea herbicides. LD04-13265 is a MG III non-GMO line developed by the University of Illinois derived from the cross “Syngenta S32-Z3” x “U98-205355”, with high yield potential and resistance to soybean cyst nematode.
