Environment description: Cultivated specimens originally collected from higher in the mountains. Growing in rocky clay soil.

Comment: Tree with irregular, rounded crown. Height 12 m, DBH 20 to 25 cm. Bark smooth, silvery gray. Leaves ovate to oblong, with acuminate tip. Fruit: follicetum light pink.
