Environment description: Prairie remnant with various habitats from dry, short-grass type vegetation to rather wet, thick vegetation.
Number of plants sampled: 5
Associated species: Monarda fistulosa, Asclepias syriaca, Solidago rigida, Euthamia sp., Amphicarpaea bracteata, Eryngium yuccifolium, Solidago sp., Artemesia ludoviciana, Andropogon gerardii, Sorghastrum nutans, Carex sp., Apocynum cannabinum, Aster sp., Salix exigua, Salix lucida, Populus tremuloides, and Helianthus sp.

Comment: Species extremely rare at site and elsewhere in southern and southeastern Minnesota. Only noted five plants within a five square yard area. Specimens sampled seem to represent older specimens with numerous (30+) ramets per plant. Sampled approximately ten spikes per plant.
