Locality: De Soto National Forest, Perry County. 1.5 miles southwest of New Augusta. Approximately 1 mile west of Highway 29 along unnumbered Forest Service road at bridge over Milky Creek.

Associated species: Calicarpa americana, Lygodium japonicum, Smilax sp., Aralia spinosa, Illicium floridanum.
Comment: Small population (approximately 10 genotypes) along road within 800 ft of Milky Creek. Collections made from 5 distinct plants across an area spanning latitude 31.181502 deg. N to 31.182201 deg. N and longitude 89.050299 deg. W to 89.053158 deg. W. The GPS coordinates provided refer to NA 86165.01/acc. 294, the first plant sampled in the population.
