Narrative
The dw5 mutant was isolated from the sorghum pedigreed mutant library constructed at Plant Stress & Germplasm Development Unit, USDA-ARS at Lubbock, Texas. The dwarf phenotype is due to recessive mutation in a nuclear gene. It represent a new dwarf locus distinct from previous known dwarf loci and provide an alternative approach to control sorghum plant height
