Associated species: Rudbeckia hirta, Aesclus pavia, Diospyros virginiana, Rhus sp., Sassafras albidum, Baptisia nuttalliana, Rubus sp., Carya texana, Tradescantia sp., Panicum sp., Smilax bona-nox, and Mimosa quadrivalvis var. nuttallii.
Comment: Widely scattered collection across 2,000 acres. Greatest distance between two specimens samples is 4.05 miles. Plants essentially all black and past maturity by approximately 2-3 weeks. Fruiting capsules starting to split. Seed quality rather poor at time of collection largely due to weevils. Plants starting to break off at ground level.
