Narrative
The released six pollinator (R) lines have been evaluated in hybrid combinations over several environments for agronomic and yield traits. These lines were selected for release based on their agronomic desirability and unique combination of drought and stalk rots tolerance, grain quality traits, and high yield potential in hybrid combinations of importance to sorghum breeders. All six R-lines can be used as male parents to develop potential high yielding drought tolerant hybrids with seed parents having A1 cytoplasmic male sterility background. These pollinator lines are three-dwarf ( dw1, Dw2, dw3, dw4) with a range of 88 to 107 cm in plant height. Except for KS146R, the other five pollinators are early in 50% flowering (55-60 days). KS146R recorded 60-65 days for days to 50% flowering. All six lines are stay-green and panicle exsertion is in the acceptable range from 4.7 to 11.3 cm for peduncle length.
